How To Grow Your Cuttings
1. Let your cutting callus over
Place your cactus or succulent cutting in a dry, shaded spot for 2–7 days. The cut end will form a protective callus, helping prevent rot.
2. Prepare the pot
Fill a small pot with a well-draining cactus or succulent mix. Good airflow and drainage are essential for healthy root development.
3. Plant the cutting
Insert the calloused end into the soil — just deep enough to hold it upright. Do not water yet. Moisture too early can cause rot before roots form.
4. Wait and water
After about 1 week, water thoroughly — then allow the soil to dry completely before watering again.
5. Provide light
Place your pot in bright, indirect sunlight. Once roots develop and new growth appears, slowly introduce more direct light.
Once your cutting has rooted and begins showing fresh growth, you can treat it just like any other cactus or succulent.
