CLEISTOCACTUS SAMAIPATANUS
Habitat: South America particularly Bolivia and the Andes
Description:
Cleistocactus samaipatanus is a cactus originating from Bolivia, more precisely from the Samaipata area, hence its name. It is a very special cactus, it's low maintenance, and is very resistant and able to survive for several decades: a perfect plant to ensure a long-lasting exotic touch to your environments. This cactus can grow up to one meter heigh and branches more stems at the base. It's body is vivid light green and spines are yellow-gold.
From spring to all summer, majestic flowers bloom colours of red, fuchsia and pink, often in clusters. A real touch of joy, which contrasts nicely with the equally bright colours of the cactus.
This cactus is perfect for beginners and only requires minimal watering once every 2-3 weeks in the growing season, letting the soil dry completely between waterings. This is a beautiful cactus for a large cactus or succulent garden. It can make an interesting plant for a large container and is a nice centrepiece for a warm, sunny courtyard.
