Cleistocactus winteri also known as "Golden monkey tail" is a fast-growing, low-maintenance cactus known for its striking golden spines and vibrant salmon and coral-pink flowers. It's a fantastic option for beginners and thrives in hanging baskets or planters.
Native to Bolivia, this cactus grows on cliff sides, enjoying full sunlight and high humidity. This cactus is simple to care for, its beautiful trailing stems, which can grow up to 1.5metres, make it ideal for hanging baskets.
In spring and summer, flowers bloom from late spring through summer, though under ideal conditions it may bloom multiple times. Funnel-shaped, orange-red to salmon-pink blooms appear along the stems. Flowers measure about 4–6 cm long and 5 cm wide, lasting several days. Following flowering, it produces small barrel-shaped fruits around 1 cm in length
