EUPHORBIA SUSANNAE
Habitat: South Africa
Description:
Euphorbia susannae is a small but striking succulent with a chubby lime-green stem and soft, dramatic spines that give it a unique, sculptural look. Native to South Africa, it naturally grows in sandy, stony soil, often tucked beneath the shade of small bushes. In its natural habitat, most of the plant stays underground, with only the tops of its stems emerging above the surface.
Despite its compact size, it grows quickly, and its segments easily detach and root on their own, making propagation simple. In spring and summer, it produces small yellow-green flowers, adding a subtle touch of colour to its bold form.
Please note: The image is representative, the plant may vary slightly since each plant is unique.
Toxicity: Like many Euphorbias, this plant contains a latex that can be irritating to the skin and mucous membranes. It is toxic if ingested, so it is important to handle this plant with care, especially when pruning or repotting.
