Mammillaria bocasana cv. 'Multilanata' also known as the Powder Puff Cactus is a striking cultivar recognized for its dense covering of silky white hairs, giving it a soft, cotton ball-like appearance. While similar to Mammillaria bocasana cv. splendens, this variety is slightly less woolly but equally charming.

Native to arid, rocky environments, this adaptable cactus thrives in a range of settings, making it an excellent ornamental choice for homes, offices, and gardens alike. It forms compact clusters of round stems covered with delicate white hairs and often produces charming rings of cream to pale pink flowers in late spring to early summer. Care Guide

Light
Mammillaria cacti thrive in full sun or bright indirect light. They require at least 4–6 hours of direct sunlight daily to grow optimally. High levels of light are needed to flower and for good spine development. Can be sunburned if moved from shade into full sun too quickly.

If grown indoors, place them near a south or west-facing window where they can receive plenty of light.

Water
Water every 2–3 weeks in spring and summer, adjusting based on temperature and humidity. In the cooler months, water sparingly, about once every 4–6 weeks. Always allow the soil to dry completely between waterings and avoid letting the plant sit in water to prevent overwatering and root rot.

Soil
Requires good drainage and very porous potting mix.
