Description:
Mammillaria microhelia is a visually striking and low-maintenance cactus species. This small, columnar cactus features cream or brown spines that gradually darken with age, arranged in a sunray-like pattern. It can grow either as a solitary plant or in clusters, reaching a maximum height of 15 cm and a diameter of 6 cm.
A slow-growing species, Mammillaria microhelia rewards patient growers with a stunning display of flowers beginning from an early age. Blooming occurs from early spring to late summer, with bell-shaped flowers that emerge in a crown-like ring at the stem’s apex. The flowers range in color from pale pink to magenta, sometimes with a yellowish-green hue, and feature yellow stamens at the center and pointed petals. The cactus produces club-shaped fruits, green to pink in color, containing brown seeds.
