MAMMILLARIA PEREZDELAROSAE
Habitat: Mexico
Description:
Mammillaria perezdelarosae is one of the more beautiful Mammillaria plants, with smallish stems densely covered with curious bi-coloured spines. Particularly sought after by collectors for its breath-taking appearance, characterized by the contrast between the spines: the central ones are long and curved downwards, shaded from orange to black; the radial ones are white, combed and short and, together with the down, cover the whole plant, giving it an overall appearance with a characteristic silver colour, almost glassy.
At first this cactus stays solitary but will offset little babies with time. Occasionally, plants will offset when quite young, and dense clumps of spherical bodies will result.
The flowers are small, pale pink to white in colour, and appear in late spring to early summer, forming a crown-like arrangement around the top of the cactus.
This plant is easy to grow, it looks great in a pot or on a windowsill. Embrace the beauty and ease of Mammillaria perezdelarosae, a must-have for any cactus collection.
