MAMMILLARIA SPINOSISSIMA
Habitat: Mexico
Description:
Discover the unique beauty of Mammillaria spinosissima with its distinctive spiny texture. This stunning cactus is a must-have for any garden or indoor plant collection. With its low maintenance needs and ability to thrive in a variety of conditions, it's the perfect addition to your botanical oasis.
Mammillarias clump, making more little plants around the base of the parent plant. Usually these offshoots can be cut and will root, making another plant. But it’s also nice to just leave them there and let the clump get bigger. The stem is dark green in colour, made of short, nipple-shaped tubercles and can reach up to 40 cm in height and 10 cm in diameter.
Flowers bloom in a halo or circle at the top of the plant in early spring to late summer. The flowers are bell-shaped, purple to red. The fruits are club-shaped, greenish in colour.
It’s always nice to have that nice splash of colour in early Spring before things outside begin to bloom.
Please note: The image is representative, the plant may vary slightly since each plant is unique.
