MAMMILLARIA MATUDAE
Habitat: Mexico
Description:
Mammillaria matudae is a striking, collector-worthy cactus that combines elegant form with easy care. Its slender, sculptural column is wrapped in finely patterned white spines, giving it a refined, almost lace-like appearance, while soft pink flowers bloom in a delicate crown near the top each spring. Native to the highlands of Mexico, it thrives in bright light, needs minimal watering, and rewards patience with long life and reliable flowering.
Flowers bloom from late winter into spring, producing a graceful ring of soft pink to lavender blooms near the crown of the stem. Each flower is delicately funnel-shaped, often marked with a darker central stripe, and opens in succession so the plant can remain in bloom for several weeks. Individual flowers last only a few days, but mature plants can carry many at once, creating a rhalo effect that beautifully contrasts with the fine white spination.
Perfect for windowsills, greenhouses, or curated cactus collections, Mammillaria matudae offers timeless beauty and architectural charm in a compact, slow-growing plant.
