NEORAIMONDIA HERZOGIANA
Habitat: Bolivia
Description:
Native to the mountainous regions of Bolivia, this striking cactus is known for having some of the longest spines in the cactus world. Though it grows slowly, it’s surprisingly easy to care for and makes a bold, sculptural addition to any collection. As it matures, it forms a tree-like shape, branching from the base of the main stem. Over time, it can reach impressive heights of up to 15 meters, with thick branches growing up to 2 feet wide. Its bright green stems are covered in distinctive brownish spines, giving it a dramatic and rugged appearance.
During the summer, mature plants produce beautiful white or soft pink flowers, though blooming typically only occurs in fully grown specimens. With its unique look, minimal maintenance needs, and non-toxic nature, this cactus is a great choice for collectors and desert landscape enthusiasts alike. It’s both visually impressive and safe for homes with pets or children.
