Description:

Rebutia cv. Sunrise is a hybrid cactus created by the crossing Rebutia heliosa and Rebutia pulvinosa ssp. albiflora. The result is a stronger, more vigorous plant than either parent, with stems densely covered in neat, pressed-down spines like R. heliosa and a stunning display of soft pink-and-white flowers inherited from R. pulvinosa ssp. albiflora. Each year it produces a spectacular bloom, making it a standout addition to any cactus collection—a truly beautiful and must-have cultivar for enthusiasts.

Flowers bloom all through spring and summer and are a beautiful soft pink outside, pale yellow-orange inside.

Easy to grow, drought-tolerant and low-maintenance, it thrives with minimal care, making it an ideal addition to any home or garden. Its compact size and striking appearance make it perfect for pots, windowsills, or as part of a cacti garden. Whether you're a seasoned plant enthusiast or just starting your collection, this plant will effortlessly brighten your space. Its unique beauty and adaptability make it a must-have for both indoor and outdoor settings.

Care Guide

Light
This cactus thrives in warmer, frost-free winters and can be grown outdoors in full sun or bright shade, although it should be protected during extreme heat. Indoors, it requires a very bright location to maintain its shape and encourage blooming. Indoors, place it in the sunniest spot, preferably a west- or south-facing window.

Water
Can survive long periods of drought, but will respond to regular watering by growing bigger and faster. During the growing season, which is typically spring and summer, you can water your cactus every 2-3 weeks. In contrast, during the dormant period in winter, you'll want to reduce watering to once every 4-6 weeks.

Soil
Rebutia cv. Sunrise thrives in a very well-draining, gritty soil mix that mimics its natural rocky habitat. A good mix is roughly 50–70% mineral materials like pumice, coarse sand, or small gravel, combined with 30–50% cactus potting soil or other organic matter. Using a pot with drainage holes and allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings will keep the plant healthy, maintain its compact shape, and encourage its stunning annual blooms.
